The Lunar Eclipse of September 28, 2015

Time lapse movies Posted on Mon, September 28, 2015 13:40:52

My all sky camera EN-98 captured the lunar eclipse of September 28, 2015. I made a movie of 230 images taken in the period of 23:00 and 04:43 UT. Each exposure was 1m29s. You can clearly see how the sky becomes darker as the moon moves increasingly into the Earth’s shadow. There are also clouds visible moving fast from north east to southwest.

My second time lapse movie from Revest du Bion is ready. The time lapse is made of nearly 1,000 images, taken with a Canon EOS 40D camera and a Sigma 4.5mm F2.8 EX DC Circular Fisheye HSM lens. The images underwent batch processing in Irfanview (crop to 1920×1920 pixels, sharpen, brightness, contrast and gamma) and some post-processing in Corel Paint Shop Pro XII.
Then followed by the making of the movie in Windows Movie Maker.
Unfortunately, this 40D shows a few bad pixels.

This is a time lapse movie I made during the night of 14/15 august 2013. I used a Canon EOS40D DSLR camera with a Canon EF 15 mm F 2.8 fish eye lens. The camera was operated with a timer controller TC80N3. The mount was a Manfrotto tripod and a Vixen Polarie Startracker.
There is much to see, for example the surroundings of the Gite Pierre Rousse, the constellations (e.g. the “Big Dipper”), two passages of the International space Station (ISS) at 00:30 and 00:48 (both in the Big Dipper) and a bright Perseid meteor at 1:50.
Enjoy watching!
