The year 2005 in images and words
This year no expeditions and holidays with meteor observations. The spring was characterized by the appearance of comet Q2 Macholtz . The Perseids were reasonably successful to Dutch standards. 2005 is a resonance Taurids year. Indeed, relatively much Taurid fireballs were observed. Personally, I even saw a -10 and a -8 Taurid. A report on the Taurids of 2005 can be read here.

Picture 1: comet C/2004 Macholtz captured with a Canon 10D and a Canon EF 100 mm F 2.0 lens. Stack of 2 images of 30 seconds. Mount: Vixen Photoguider type 1.

Picture 2: 5 november 2005 around 23:00 UT: a -6 Taurid captured througt a thin cloud layer.
Camera: Canon 10D with a Canon EF 15 mm F 2.8 fish eye lens. Stars of the constellation Orion are visible.
Location: Gildehausen, Germany.

Picture 3: 27 oktober 2005: bright -2 Taurid. Location: Groevenbeekse Heide, a moor near Ermelo, the Netherlands. Camera: Canon 10D with a Canon EF 15 mm F 2.8 fish eye lens.
