The year 1991 in images and words
A good year for meteor observations. During the spring we had a successful Lyridwatch.

Picture 1: Koen is programming a Canon T70 commando back, August 1991.

The waether was also reasonable during the Perseid campaign from the roof of the watertower. In total we counted 800 meteors. The Delphinus team anno 1991 consisted of: Robert Haas, Koen Miskotte, Paul Bensing and Bauke Rispens. The cameras photographed 25 meteors, of which a large number was simultaneous with other DMS stations in the Netherlands. The pictures below shows the situation on the roof of the watertower anno 1991. The old fence made by my father is gone and a new aluminum fence is installed. Unfortunately, the light pollution of Harderwijk is increasing every year. So we were forced to hang a piece of black agricultural plastic on the fence.

Picture 2: installing 5 automatic camera's on the roof of the watertower.

Picture 3: ready for action! Near the fence an old camera battery with 7 camera's.

Picture 4: these old cameras were operated by hand ...

Picture 5: Perseid of magnitude -1 in Aquarius, august 1991.

Picture 6: Perseid of magnitude -5 in Cassiopeia during the passage of some cirrus clouds...

The Geminids were highly successful. After a small accident on the watertower (13/14 decmeber) I had to observe at home later that night. During the night 14/15 December we observed from the watertower. It was the last Geminid campaign from the watertower.

Picture 7: in september 1991 DMS had a meeting at Rotterdam.
